If you have spent ten or more years building AI, analytics or data systems in a bank, NBFC or IT firm, State Bank of India wants to talk to you. SBI has opened six senior AI posts under advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/30, and the last date to register and pay the fee is 9 November 2026.
This is a small, senior hiring round, so it is not for freshers. Below you will find the posts and pay ranges, age limits, the qualification and experience SBI asks for, how selection works, and the exact steps to apply before the window shuts.

Vacancy details and pay
All six posts are unreserved (UR), one seat each, on fixed-term employment. The CTC figures below are the upper limits printed in the notice. SBI says CTC is negotiable based on your experience and current pay.

The contract runs for 3 years and can be extended by up to 2 more years, so 5 years at most. Pay is split 90% fixed and 10% variable, and the variable part depends on your yearly performance score. The suggested posting is Mumbai, though SBI keeps the right to post you anywhere in India.
If you belong to a reserved category, you can still apply, but you will be judged against the general eligibility rules because no seat is reserved.

You pay online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. The fee is not refundable, and any bank transaction charge is yours to bear.
Eligibility
Educational qualification
- GM and the three DGM posts: B.E., B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, EEE, ECE or equivalent, or M.Sc (Statistics or CS), MA (Statistics), M.Stat or MCA.
- For these four posts, an MBA or PGDM in finance, or a certification in ML, AI or NLP, counts as a preferred qualification.
- AI Solution Architect and Enterprise AI Architect: a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as CS, IT, Data Science, AI or Engineering (Business Administration or Management is also listed for the Solution Architect post).
- Every qualification and every year of experience is counted as on 30 September 2026.
Experience
- GM and Chief AI Officer: at least 15 years in banking, BFSI or IT, with at least 3 years in senior leadership of AI, analytics, model oversight or transformation, leading a sizeable team.
- Each DGM post: at least 10 years in banking, BFSI or IT, with at least 2 years of senior leadership experience in the area named in the post title.
- AI Solution Architect: at least 8 years overall, including 3 years in AI or analytics solutioning, consulting or solution architecture.
- Enterprise AI Architect: at least 8 years of technology experience, including 3 years in enterprise, platform, data or AI architecture.
Read the leadership clause carefully
SBI will not count individual contributor roles toward the Chief AI Officer’s leadership years, and teaching or training experience is not counted for eligibility. If most of your work was hands-on rather than leading a team, check your fit post by post before you pay.

Selection process
There is no written exam. Everything rests on shortlisting and the interview.
- ShortlistingA bank committee sets the shortlisting rules and decides how many people to call. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an interview call.
- InterviewThe interview carries 100 marks. Candidates for the GM and DGM posts also give a 10-minute presentation on their job profile, projects or milestones.
- CTC negotiationPay is discussed one to one, during or after the interview.
- Merit listThe final list is drawn only from interview marks. If two candidates tie at the cut-off, the older one ranks higher.
